Satellite Signal Changes - Spain • Kas

From February 2012, BBC1, BBC2, BBC3, BBC4. BBC1 HD, CBBC, CBeebies, BBC News, ITV1, ITV2, ITV3, ITV4, E4. More4 and Film4 can now be made available on small satellite dish 90cm or a 1m satellite dish, where previously a 1.8m or 2.4m satellite dish may have been required for these channels.

The 80cm satellite dish will not ne able to receive all the UK TV channels, in most areas a 90cm or 1m satellite dish will be required to be installed to receive these channels.

A larger 90cm or 1m sattelite dish will perform better in heavy rain and cloud cover, but even then 24/7 reception cannot be guaranteed.

Theses changes have been made possible by these channels moving to another satellite, Astra 1N. As Astra 1Ns reception in Spain is much better than the chennels previous satellite, Astra 2D.

So the channels moving to Astra 1N has meant an unexpected bonus of the main UK TV channels being made available on smaller satellite dishes.

The new satellite will be launched into space end of 2013, and reading all the information provided, the satellite signals will infact improve even more out here on the Costa Blanca.
